I finally got around to cleaning the shop and I am ready to start working on a new line/series/project/ect. It's going to be built in furniture and decor starting in my sunroom and working my way through the house. I haven't come up with a name yet, but Adam of LazyguyDIY suggested Homewrecking with Matt....
I want to take a different approach, rather than show exact measurements and how to make it, I'll focus on the principles of built-ins and how to determine where and what you can do. I'm sure it will be a bit of an adjustment and I don't know exactly what I want but I'll be aiming for a more cinematic approach.
The first project I'll be kicking off tonight, a Live, edge plant shelf, that will nest right under the three front windows. I am thinking of trying a variant of a french cleat to fasten it. I feel like it won't work but fingers crossed. If it doesn't I'll fab some brass pins and simply pin it in place.
The sun room is just a tiny little mud room, which used to be Ruff's bedroom. I find myself sitting on there more and more frequently. The love seat was a hand-me-down from the neighbors. I plan on building a new one and I hope to have Bella Upholstery (local) make some cushions for it!
The pictures below show some before shots. It's a simple space which hopefully I can transform into a more appealing rustic feel bringing the outdoors inside.
